As Hong Kong nears 29 years since its return to Chinese rule on July 1,city gears up to boost tourism by turning more historic sites into cultural hotspots. Secretary for Culture,Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui pointed to the successful Yau Ma Tei police station exhibition as a model for what’s next . It's a blend of city's deep history with its lively cultural scene.
Since opening in January, Yau Ma Tei exhibition has pulled in big crowds. It showcases elements from famous Hong Kong crime films inside the historic police station. Law said this project captures something uniquely Hong Kong, noting,“This project is actually uniquely Hong Kong. It reflects a sort of legacy of Hong Kong’s past, an old police station.”
