With him were Rajendranagar police inspector,officials from Irrigation and Water Resources Department . Srinivas checked area's readiness. Officials said T . Prakash Goud,local MLA,had opened one of reservoir’s 17 gates by a foot on Sunday to manage expected inflows .

DCP looked over plans for heavy rain scenarios that could fill reservoir to brim,forcing all gates open. He worried about impact on residents downstream and along Outer Ring Road. Precautionary measures are key,he said,to avoid danger or inconvenience.
