A remarkable development has unfolded at the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode,as the proportion of female students in its premier postgraduate program has reached an unprecedented level of 66%. This figure reflects the enrollment of 329 women among a total of 499 participants for the academic period spanning 2026 to 2028, setting a new record for gender representation at the institution .
Recently,an official event marked formal induction of 599 individuals into institute's various full-time MBA offerings. Alongside this,99 new doctoral candidates began their academic journeys within the institution's management studies track. gathering,which was highlighted by comments from keynote speaker Raghu Polisetty, a senior managing director at Accenture, was overseen by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, the director of the institute .
In addition to its diversity in gender representation,the current cohort of the postgraduate program showcases a noteworthy shift in academic backgrounds,with 57% of incoming students originating from fields outside engineering . Furthermore,among all full-time MBA students, 59% also come from diverse non-engineering disciplines. This year's intake includes the inaugural group of institution's Teaching Track Doctoral Programme in Management,which aims to bolster research and educational excellence in the field of management .
