27-year-old Indian man Pravna Bhatt is in hot water in UK. Accused of trying to groom minor. Outrage erupted online after video of confrontation spread on social media. Footage,shot by group calling themselves “British patriots,” shows Bhatt admitting to inappropriate chats with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Legitimacy of decoy profile is unverified,but Bhatt seen in video admitting he sent explicit messages,knowing the girl's age. He reportedly said,“It’s my first time,please forgive me,I will never do this again.” And he asked girl to send him money,claiming it was for a hotel meeting he proposed.
Bhatt moved to UK three years ago on student visa,switched to post-study visa after finishing at University of Leeds. Now facing serious allegations. Confrontation revealed he engaged in sexually explicit chats,sent video of himself. At one point,laughed off minor's age,saying,“I will go to jail,” but kept chatting .
In the video,he begged for another chance,claiming first offense,pleading with group not to call police . “This is first time I have done this… Please give me a last chance,” he said. But despite public outrage,it's unclear if formal charges have been filed or if police were contacted.
Not only case . Earlier this year,another Indian national Gureet Jeetesh was arrested in Coventry on similar charges,just after arriving in UK on student visa.
