IndiGo kicked off its flights from the brand-new Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar,becoming first airline to do so. First flight left Lucknow at 7:05 a.m., touched down in Noida hour later with 182 passengers onboard,including actor and entrepreneur Gul Panag.

This milestone is a big leap for aviation in the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh. IndiGo's got big plans — linking Noida to over 16 domestic spots,boosting travel options and regional links.

Launch day had more flights on schedule. Flight 6E5212 was set to hit Lucknow from Noida by 9:55 a.m., carrying 170 farmers meeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Another flight,6E5219,was slated to leave Lucknow for Noida at 2:30 p.m.

Regular flights between Lucknow and Noida start July 1. IndiGo plans two daily flights each way. From Noida, flights at 5:50 a.m. and 3:05 p.m.; from Lucknow,flights at 7:25 a.m. and 9:40 p.m.

The airport's set to link up major metros like Bengaluru,Hyderabad,Amritsar and Jammu . More routes to Bareilly,Bhopal,Dehradun,Dharamshala,Jaipur,Jodhpur,Pantnagar and Kishangarh roll out starting July .

IndiGo said the new airport will strengthen regional connections and open more travel options for folks in Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh. It's about tying Tier-II and Tier-III cities to big urban hubs, sparking new travel across north and central India .

Christoph Schnellmann,Vice Chairman of NIA,welcomed IndiGo as the launch partner, saying, "As our launch carrier,IndiGo will connect NIA to key destinations across India,providing passengers with greater choice and convenience from day one."
