Kadavanthra police decided not to file a case after actor Ansiba Hassan complained about fellow actor Tini Tom. She accused him of making communal, defamatory remarks. A report to the Assistant Commissioner in Ernakulam Central found not enough grounds for FIR,a police officer confirmed Saturday.
Hassan said she heard of the remarks from another actor. Police interviewed several people, including Hassan, Tom, and Shweta Menon, former AMMA president, during their initial probe. Tom denies the accusations.
Hassan has now taken her complaint to court, trying to force authorities to register a case against Tom. She cited earlier harassment claims as reason for quitting her role as joint secretary of AMMA. Her resignation fueled controversies, police complaints, and led to the recent AMMA general meeting where Menon and entire executive committee resigned.
In related twist, Hassan filed a new complaint with Palarivattom police against Menon,ex-AMMA vice president Lakshmipriya, and online channel owner. She alleges they insulted her with false, suggestive content. Hassan also went to Thripunithura court seeking FIR against Lakshmipriya and Sub Inspector Reshma of women's cell, after local Assistant Commissioner dismissed her earlier complaint.
