After 22 years on the run,notorious vehicle thief Baldev Singh,60,has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh. Singh,from Ghodi in Haryana's Palwal district,linked to many vehicle thefts across northern India. Ten cases alone logged at Kannur Town police station back in 2004 .

His capture went down in Aligarh district,led by Kannur district police chief Balakrishna Nair. A team from Kannur Crime Branch,including Sub-Inspector Madhusoodanan and Assistant Sub-Inspectors Biju and Rajesh Kumar,pulled off the arrest with help from Haryana Police Crime Squad.

Singh was a proclaimed offender,with nine non-bailable warrants hanging over him. For over 20 years,he dodged authorities by moving between Haryana,Delhi,and Uttar Pradesh. His arrest is a breakthrough in the investigation into vehicle thefts plaguing Kannur and nearby areas.
