Two Shia clerics from Kashmir hit roadblock when their trip to Iran was abruptly stopped. They had been invited for memorial services honoring an Iranian leader. But Thursday,immigration authorities halted their departure despite all necessary papers,even valid travel passes.

Officials confiscated Aga Syed Hassan Al-Mosavi Al-Safavi's passport without any clear reason or written order. He leads J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian. group is now demanding answers from government,calling for transparency and protection of religious leaders' rights .

Masroor Abbas Ansari,another cleric caught in the restrictions,couldn’t get his passport. He was upset to miss memorial events. He said honoring Khamenei,who was killed February 28,was a major loss. “Today,my heart is heavy,” said Ansari,stressing the deep ties to this moment.

Five other Shia clerics were invited too. Along with Mehbooba Mufti,former Chief Minister and PDP leader. Mufti accepted her invite and plans to travel to Iran to offer condolences to Iranian government and people .
