Anticipating tough weather patterns,India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised alert for much of Kerala's northern districts . IMD sees extreme rain ahead,especially for two areas expecting heavy downpour on June 29.

Alert warns some districts may face rain between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm in 24 hours,with possible thunderstorms. Twelve other districts will stay under different advisory,with rain between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm.

Central,northern parts of state brace for more rain,as heightened alert for two districts takes effect June 29 . Then it extends to Kozhikode and Wayanad on June 30 if conditions stay unstable. Initial areas on alert through July 1.
