District officials in Kurnool are gearing up for Kharif 2026, focusing on getting quality seeds and subsidized fertilizers to farmers. On Friday, June 19, 2026, District Collector Dr. A. Siri kicked off this initiative at Tuggali mandal headquarters.
Farmers received red-gram seeds under Atmanirbhar Mission. Groundnut seeds and urea also distributed. Dr . Siri stressed that enough agricultural inputs are ready to meet season's demand . “Tuggali mandal alone has 244.8 metric tonnes of urea in stock,” she said. Distribution runs through a government portal,e-pass machines for transparency.
Urea pricing set at ₹1,457 per bag,but with a subsidy of ₹1,190, farmers get it for ₹266.50. Big cut to boost local agriculture. Free red gram seeds for farmers doing intercropping. Dr. Siri added that 1,752 quintals of groundnut seeds are ready for farmers,at a 40% subsidy.
