The Mysuru Big Tech Show-2026 wrapped up Thursday,aiming to vault city into a $10 billion digital economy hub. Two days of talks at Infosys campus brought together industry leaders,start-ups,and policymakers under Karnataka’s ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ push to boost Mysuru's tech scene.

Key figures like S. Selva Kumar,Principal Secretary of Commerce and Industries,and Manjula N., Secretary of Electronics,IT,Biotechnology and Science & Technology, were there . They aim to draw investors beyond Bengaluru. B. V. Naidu of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission and Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of KDEM, highlighted Mysuru’s potential as a Tier-II innovation hub.

During a fireside chat,Dr. Selva Kumar and Dr . Manjula talked about Karnataka’s digital economy and Mysuru’s growing role. Dr. Manjula stressed attracting investments to Mysuru and other Tier-II cities, a top priority under ‘Beyond Bengaluru’. Mysuru is ready to be a tech hotspot beyond Bengaluru.

Dr. Selva Kumar mentioned Karnataka is India’s second-largest FDI recipient after Maharashtra. He called Mysuru a standout in ‘Beyond Bengaluru’, citing its talent,improving infrastructure, and a growing electronics manufacturing scene. “Mysuru’s digital economy is on a strong growth trajectory,” he said,urging more investments.

The state wants to ease Bengaluru's congestion by promoting cities like Mysuru,Hubballi, Mangaluru, Belagavi,and Kalaburagi as investment alternatives. Dr. Selva Kumar announced an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Kochanahalli,252 acres of plug-and-play infrastructure, backed by the Union government. This should attract PCB makers and electronics industries .

“The time is right for Mysuru to grow,” Dr. Selva Kumar said, urging investors to see city’s potential. Government is ready to work with industry for mutual growth.

Mysuru’s digital economy now stands at about $1.3 billion, aiming for $10 billion soon. Gupta noted city exports hit ₹5,700 crore, backed by over 650 start-ups.

Dr . Manjula also spoke about skilling initiatives to ready young professionals . She cited the Nipuna program, boosting employability of over 6,000 candidates. Looking ahead,she is optimistic about IT,biotechnology,and electronics growth in Mysuru over next 4-5 years. She urged major research institutions to help set up centers of excellence .
