Big urban infrastructure boost for Mysuru. Yathindra Siddaramaiah,the district minister,announced hefty investments during the 80th Independence Day celebrations. A new bus terminal at Bannimantap will cost ₹129 crore, showing government's push to upgrade public transport and handle more tourists.
Siddaramaiah also laid out plans for a ₹393.85 crore road project. It covers white-topping 46.088 kilometers across 12 key stretches. This aims to improve road quality and cut maintenance,a response to the city's growing population.
An ambitious ₹588.24 crore plan will convert 11-kV overhead power lines into underground cables. This should cut power outages and maintenance costs,boosting electricity reliability in city limits.
Faced with less rain, the minister stressed stable drinking water as priority. ₹4.5 crore has been released for new borewells and refreshing old ones,plus ₹1 crore per Assembly constituency for more support.
Tourism is a big focus. Visitor numbers are climbing, and the government plans a Greater Mysuru City Corporation by merging the city municipal council with nearby town and gram panchayats. A preliminary notification is out,with a full plan in works.

The Shakti scheme has given out 49.56 crore free bus tickets to women in the past three years, costing ₹1,300 crore. Anna Bhagya scheme aids 678,796 families with BPL and Antyodaya cards,offering over 2.2 million people 10 kg of rice each from fair-price shops .
Women's education is a focus,with a new hostel at Maharani’s Women’s Science College costing ₹170 crore. It will house 1,400 students. Siddaramaiah confirmed the government's dedication to development, farmers' welfare, and public services, with more projects on the horizon .
