Chandrababu Naidu, called for the conferment of the Bharat Ratna on legendary actor and politician N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) in honor of his birth anniversary. Naidu emphasized that NTR would remain a cherished figure among the Telugu people for generations to come.
Naidu articulated the collective aspiration of the Telugu community, stating, “This is our wish, the desire of every Telugu person... The Mahanadu unanimously resolves to recognize the sentiments of the Telugu people and confer the Bharat Ratna on NTR.” He underscored NTR's pivotal role in Indian politics, noting that he rose from a humble background to become Chief Minister within just nine months of the TDP's formation, a remarkable achievement in the political landscape.
Reflecting on NTR’s legacy, Naidu remarked on the profound impact the actor had on the Telugu film industry and national politics. He stated, “NTR was a great leader. He stood as a symbol of self-respect for the Telugu race. He prioritized the welfare of people and earned a place in their hearts.” Naidu's tribute highlighted NTR's significant contributions, asserting that he deserves the highest civilian honor in the country.
In conjunction with the celebrations, a blood donation camp was organized by the NTR Trust, further honoring NTR's legacy of service to the community. Naidu expressed gratitude to all participants, reinforcing the enduring influence of NTR on the Telugu people.
