Students headed to NEET-UG 2026 re-exam hit travel chaos Sunday when a train broke down near Bengaluru. Train from Yeshwanthpur to Solapur stopped suddenly near Solur in Nelamangala taluk,sparking panic among candidates racing against clock to reach exam centers.
Train developed technical fault, leaving passengers stuck for almost an hour. Another train from Hassan to Yeshwanthpur also got caught up in delays. With no alternate routes,railway authorities scrambled to fix it,leaving many students waiting in halted train.
As exam time loomed,several NEET candidates ditched the train . Fearing they'd miss the exam,they scrambled for other transport to reach Bengaluru on time . The re-exam was crucial — over 22.78 lakh candidates spread across 551 Indian cities and 14 abroad.
NEET-UG 2026 set from 2 PM to 5:15 PM,candidates told to report between 11 AM and 1:30 PM. Hard cutoff at 1:30 PM — latecomers out. Special rules for disabled candidates,who could stay till 6:20 PM.
National Testing Agency enforced stricter exam rules this year, stressing punctuality for all . Train breakdown added to stress of already tense situation, as students braced for one of nation’s toughest entrance exams.
