D. Rajya Lakshmi,Registrar of JNTU-GV,stressed how crucial National Service Scheme (NSS) training is for getting students ready for natural disasters. At the valedictory event for ‘NSS-Yuva Apada Mitra’ at SITAM College,she pointed out that these efforts boost student development and prepare them for emergencies.

100 students from across Vizianagaram district joined the program . They learned to help during floods,cyclones,other disasters. With Majji Sasibhusana Rao,Director of SITAM, and M. Sudhakar, Andhra Pradesh's NSS coordinator, Lakshmi handed out certificates. She urged these volunteers to pass on their skills to others,building community resilience .

Dr. Sasibhusana Rao remarked that NSS volunteers gained special training for immediate disaster response,including fires. He pushed students to attend orientation classes to sharpen crisis management skills. And mentioned that NSS volunteers would get priority in campus recruitments.

Sudhakar announced all educational institutions should set up NSS wings . More students should have this training and help their communities in emergencies…
