High-Level Clearance Authority in Odisha has approved 20 major industrial projects, totaling nearly ₹76,612 crore. This move aims to create over 50,500 jobs in nine districts,a big boost for state's economy.
Approval comes just before President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to celebrate two years of BJP government in region. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi,who led HLCA meeting,stressed Odisha's push for business-friendly climate . “With progressive policies,robust infrastructure,and commitment to ease of doing business, Odisha keeps drawing investments,” he said .
One standout project is ₹10,000 crore investment from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited. They're setting up ingot,wafer manufacturing unit and solar PV cell facility in Ganjam . This alone could create 5,000 jobs. Another big plan comes from Rashmi Metallurgical Industry Private Limited,aiming for integrated steel plant in Jajpur with four million tonnes capacity,potentially adding 11,000 jobs.
Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited pledges ₹7,580 crore for a one million tonne steel plant in Sambalpur. Renewable energy sector gets boost too,with Rajapuspa Renova LLP cleared for a ₹5,220 crore pumped storage hydro-power project in Malkangiri.
Also,Kira Diam LLP plans lab-grown diamond manufacturing unit in Khordha with ₹7,000 crore investment. Other firms like Anjali Labtech Limited and Grow Magnificent Private Limited propose similar projects,contributing ₹9,817.50 crore total in sector,expected to create 8,100 jobs.
These projects emerge as state grapples with issues,including unrest from the retrenchment of 15,000 contract workers . Government faces pressure to balance these challenges with promoting industrial growth…
