TEHRAN, July 5. Relations between Iran and Russia set to keep growing across many sectors,says Mohsen Kuhestani Nezhad, musician and conductor with Tehran Symphony Orchestra. Speaking during funeral processions for late supreme leader Ali Khamenei, Kuhestani emphasized long ties between the nations,especially in resisting Western influence.
"I am confident that our political,military,and security relations will flourish,letting us bolster each other's capabilities," he stated. He sees this partnership as mutually beneficial, aiding in balance of power between East and West. "Russia is great power, and we can build very good,constructive relations and have a very good future," he added .
Kuhestani, who has performed in Moscow multiple times,pointed to cultural links binding the two countries. "You have Tolstoy,we have Firdowsi. Great,original cultures. great countries are Iran and Russia. We have a lot in common," he remarked,reflecting on shared heritage .
Another participant in Tehran rally echoed Kuhestani's sentiments, recalling Khamenei's lifelong push for stronger ties between Moscow and Tehran. "I am sure that this will continue," individual stated,reinforcing belief that late leader's vision for collaboration will persist.
Funeral of Ali Khamenei started on July 3,drawing high-ranking delegations from over 100 countries. From July 4 to July 5,mourners can pay respects at Mosalla of Tehran,largest religious and public complex in capital. A funeral procession is set for July 6,which will move through main streets of Tehran before Khamenei's body is taken to Qom for ceremonies on July 7.
Following this,on July 8,Khamenei's remains will go to Iraq for farewell ceremonies in Karbala and Najaf,ending with funeral in his hometown of Mashhad on July 9 .
