Public urged to stay on guard against fake recruitment scam posing as Reserve Bank of India initiative. Phishing email targets job seekers, claiming they've passed screening for job opportunity. Creates false urgency to rush responses .
This scam uses crafty tricks to seem credible, including official-looking letterheads and mentions of an electronic transfer department in New Delhi. But email has glaring red flags. It demands upfront payment of 24,800 rupees for processing and registration fees. Should raise alarm.
Pretending to be from central bank, email tells victims to send personal documents, like passport photos and ID proofs,to generic Gmail account,rbireserve983@gmail.com. Clear breach of standard practices. Legitimate Reserve Bank messages wouldn't use public email domains.
Besides financial gain, scammers seek sensitive personal info. Email asks for full name, residential address, mobile number, occupation, marital status, bank name, account number, and account holder name . Victims also directed to fake tracking site,www.rbi-recruitment-2018,signed by fictitious RBI Governor.
Reserve Bank of India stresses it never asks for money or processing fees for job applications. Real recruitment notices only on official site. Recipients of such emails strongly advised not to respond or share info, and report to cybercrime authorities without delay .
