REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has kicked off Request for Proposal (RFP) for ERES-47 765kV inter-state transmission corridor. Aim: boost power grid in Eastern India. Project stretches across Bihar,West Bengal . Expected to enhance supply reliability,meet rising energy demand .

RFP issued under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. Marks big step towards completing 765kV ring in East. Will improve electricity supply to Kolkata,surroundings. Supports demand from both Bihar,West Bengal.

This inter-state system includes several parts. New 765/400/220 kV substation at Nawada in Bihar with multiple ICTs,bus reactors,line bays. Also,a 765kV switching station at Durgapur in West Bengal. LILO of Gaya-Ballia 765kV line at Nawada. Plus two new double circuit lines: Nawada to Durgapur, Durgapur to Jeerat.

Set to operate commercially by 31 March 2029. Built on Build,Own,Operate,Transfer (BOOT) basis for 35 years. Assets transfer to Central Transmission Utility (CTU) at no cost after.
