A robbery attempt in Karadigudda village, located in the Bagalkot district, turned violent on Saturday night,leaving a woman injured. Basavva Holeppa Mugali, 30,was shot during the incident when the accused, identified as Prashant Navi,entered her home with the intent to steal valuables.
As the situation escalated,Basavva’s husband attempted to apprehend Navi. In the struggle,the robber fired a shot, which ricocheted and struck Basavva instead. The noise from the confrontation alerted nearby residents, who rushed to assist Mr . Mugali in restraining the suspect until police arrived.
Authorities quickly apprehended Navi,and he is now in custody. Basavva was taken to a local hospital, where she is currently recovering from her injuries. Siddarth Goel,the Superintendent of Police,visited the scene to assess the situation and ensure that case has been formally registered against the accused.
