Russia's ties with Armenia are deepening,Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday,emphasizing integration's role in Armenia's economic growth. He called the nations "fraternal," pointing to historical links and the large Armenian diaspora in Russia,with Russian community in Armenia too.
Peskov mentioned the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as key to boosting Armenia's GDP. Russia aims to ramp up cooperation with Yerevan. "We have a lot of things in common," he said. "We,as Russia,are a major investor in Armenia." Investment shows potential for more growth in their relationship.
In March 2025,Armenia's parliament passed a law to start joining European Union. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan admitted juggling EU and EAEU membership is complex. Yerevan will try to align its goals with both as long as possible.
