KAZAN, June 17. Russia plans to boost liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to ASEAN nations, responding to region's energy demand surge. Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov announced this at Russia-ASEAN Business Forum. He said energy consumption in region could jump 2.6 times by 2050.
Reshetnikov stated, "ASEAN countries have substantial demand because energy consumption will increase 2.6-fold by 2050. This means there will be greater demand for products that we are capable of producing and where we now have new opportunities." He said talks are underway to enhance LNG supplies for this growing need.
Apart from LNG,minister noted potential for more food exports, including wheat, vegetable oil, and meat products. "We are now supplying turkey meat to Malaysia. Deliveries of pork to Vietnam have increased significantly," he remarked . Russia also increasing its fertilizer exports, key for palm oil production in Malaysia,Indonesia .
Beyond energy and food, Reshetnikov mentioned several sectors for collaboration,like industrial cooperation, digital platforms,creative economy,pharmaceuticals, tourism. Ongoing talks show Russia's commitment to strengthening ties with ASEAN countries amid changing global energy dynamics…
