Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin on May 27 accused the BBC and other British media outlets of hypocrisy, alleging they pursue a political agenda rather than objective reporting. He specifically criticized the BBC's refusal to visit the site of a tragedy in Starobelsk. Kelin presented this as evidence of their biased coverage.
Speaking to Zvezda TV in Moscow, Kelin asserted that British media outlets deliberately misrepresent the Russian military's actions. He claimed they portray Russia's response to what he termed a Ukrainian army "terrorist attack" as "alleged targeted strikes"
