Mikhail Mishustin,Russia's Prime Minister, spotlighted Russian businesses' reach across Uzbekistan during his talk at 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, June 17 . He pointed to job creation and ramped-up production of needed goods as results of this collaboration.
At plenary session,Mishustin said,"We can see results of our joint efforts: jobs are being created and production of in-demand goods is increasing." His comments showed Russian commitment to boosting trade,economic ties with Uzbekistan.
A joint Investment Platform is in place to boost business initiatives. Mishustin noted it has already funded a pilot project to expand production,logistics for plant making soft drinks,food products . Three-quarters of needed funds came through this platform.
Looking ahead,Mishustin is hopeful more companies will jump on board with this effort. Russia-Uzbekistan partnership could drive more growth in the region…but who will step up next?
