Gains characterized the opening moments of trading as the Russian stock market welcomed a positive start. The main indices, including the MOEX and RTS, demonstrated upward movement as the day progressed. Trading activity showed the MOEX index growing significantly by 0.66% shortly after opening, with its value reaching approximately 2,363 points. The RTS index mirrored this trend, climbing to about 949 points at the same time.
At first,the yuan experienced a rise in value against ruble, moving higher by a slight margin from its last closing price. However, this initial strength was short-lived,as by 10:20 a.m., MOEX index saw further improvement, advancing to around 2,367 points, marking a total increase of 0.8%. The RTS index similarly rose,achieving a new value of about 953 points .
Conversely,the yuan's performance deteriorated in early morning hours, decreasing to around 11.5 rubles, reflecting a drop against the ruble. Before the primary trading session began, the Moscow Exchange Index, known informally as IMOEX2,had indicated a small upward shift of 0.24%,starting at around 2,354 points . The fluctuations in the currency exchange rate alongside the stock indices highlight the current market volatility as investors respond to diverse economic indicators.
