State Bank of India (SBI) is trying to cool tensions with Telangana government over disputed land in Raidurgam Knowledge City. SBI delegation,led by a Chief General Manager,met Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao Monday to tackle the legal mess.
Meeting lasted about 30 minutes. But details are scarce. At issue — a 5.09-acre parcel that government auctioned . SBI’s court challenge has angered Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his administration.
State may pull its business from SBI over this. Chief Secretary made the stance clear during talks. After the meeting,he headed to New Delhi to back Chief Minister in talks with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and senior officials.
Telangana government is frustrated. It offered SBI another land parcel,which bank refused,preferring court battle. Situation could get worse,so SBI is engaging with officials to ease tensions.
