To spread teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, Sree Narayana Guru Open University (SGOU) launched a one-year diploma course called "Life and Vision of Sree Narayana Guru." The event took place at Learner Support Centre,Fatima Mata National College in Kollam. Sachidananda Swami,head of Sivagiri Mutt,stressed studying Guru's philosophy is crucial today .
In his speech,Sachidananda Swami spoke on preserving and sharing Guru's teachings,which promote humanity's greatness beyond caste and social barriers. He commended SGOU for this program,saying it aligns with Guru's call to "gain enlightenment through education." After launch,Swami led inaugural class on Guru's life and vision.
SGOU Vice-Chancellor Jagathy Raj V . P. chaired event,emphasizing Guru's focus on education as path to enlightenment is core to university's mission. Education should go beyond basic literacy. It must foster equality and humanism. "The university is on major mission to pass on Guru’s globally relevant life and timeless teachings to new generation," he said .
