Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy,Member of Legislative Assembly for Srikalahasti,and District Collector S. Venkateswar urged local farmers Wednesday to embrace natural farming methods. Officials stressed state government's push for sustainable agriculture to cut costs,boost environmental protection .
The visit unfolded at A. Pushpa's three-acre farm in Vedaam village. She showed off techniques for seed prep,natural pesticides. Pushpa mixes seeds with ash and Jeevamritam,a cow-based natural fertilizer,to fend off pests before planting .
Collector Venkateswar asked about fodder availability,soil fertility,financial gains Pushpa saw from these practices. He emphasized government's backing of natural farming,noting its potential to slash farming costs and help the environment .
Officials later handed out urea to farmers,urging them to apply Venkateswar and Sudheer Reddy showed how to use a hand-driven transplanter for paddy crops,encouraging mechanization to cut labor costs.
Several local agricultural officials attended, including Market Committee Chairman Chenchiah Naidu, Revenue Divisional Officer Bhanuprakash Reddy, District Agriculture Officer Prasada Rao,and Additional Director of Agriculture Dhananjaya Reddy.
