All villages across the State will soon have high speed internet connectivity. Telangana is set for the utilisation of T-Fiber as part of the Amended BharatNet Programme (ABP) and the government is mulling constitution of a special purpose vehicle and signing of an agreement with the Centre for a digital transformation of the State.Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held elaborate discussion with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on the T-Fiber project through video conferencing on Wednesday.
He gave suggestions on the effective implementation of ABP like expeditious signing of the agreement between the State and the Centre as also speedy release of funds pending to the State. He wanted a clear policy on transferring assets of ring network from mandal to gram panchayat level to digital Bharat.Mr. Scindia responded positively to the suggestions and assured that the Centre would provide necessary cooperation in this direction.
The meeting discussed about the State government's resolve to provide high speed internet service to all households with the Centre assuring necessary support from its side.The State, is taking decisive steps towards uniform digital backbone that would link all the gram panchayats through ring architecture using the T-Fiber network. The initiative would ensure that there is no interruption in high speed broadband services. Even if a section of the network is affected, an alternative network would be available.To begin with, the government would take up restoration of digital connectivity to 3,079 villages in erstwhile Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Khammam districts.
