The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led coalition has made waves by signing 97 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) valued at over ₹67,542 crore during the ‘Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026’ in Chennai on August 13, 2026. Chief Minister C . Joseph Vijay and top officials were present, eyeing big economic gains for the state.
Minister for Industries S. Keerthana highlighted these deals,noting investment commitments will top ₹1 lakh crore in the first 100 days of their administration. That's ₹1,000 crore a day—set to create over 1.2 lakh jobs.
Among the big players, the 111-year-old Hinduja Group plans a ₹2,500 crore investment in renewable energy and electric mobility. They’ll develop over 200 MW of renewable projects through Hinduja Renewables Energy Private Limited,focusing on solar, wind,and batteries.
The Phoenix Kothari Group is making a ₹1,000 crore move into Ramanathapuram, marking the first major industrial investment there. A big step for local growth .
Boosting industrial scene, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles will pour ₹4,000 crore into expanding its Oragadam facility for commercial vehicle design and production. Saint-Gobain is putting ₹2,000 crore into new plant in Krishnagiri and expansion in Kancheepuram.
Global players are in too. YKK,zipper giant, is investing ₹1,651 crore in Tiruvallur,creating 4,316 jobs. Singapore’s Ascendas Firstspace plans a ₹1,000 crore industrial park there, while U.S.-based Super Micro Computer is setting up server assembly in Chennai.
In life sciences,eight companies inked MoUs, including Caplin Group of Companies with ₹925 crore for an R&D and manufacturing facility in Tiruvallur. S3V Vascular Technologies is investing ₹525 crore in Kancheepuram for implant manufacturing, and Cellbios Healthcare & Lifesciences is putting ₹150 crore into Dindigul and Krishnagiri for cell therapy tech.
Space sector also grabbed attention. Agnikul Cosmos plans ₹400 crore investment, creating 1,500 jobs for launch vehicle operations . Skyroot Aerospace will invest ₹250 crore for facilities,adding 500 jobs .
Keerthana laid out a bold vision for a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. “For a young graduate,growth means a better job . For woman, it can mean economic independence. For a family,it means upward mobility,” she said. Ramanathapuram’s investment means local youth can find opportunities without leaving home.
