Andhra Pradesh's ruling NDA alliance decided Thursday to give three of four upcoming Rajya Sabha seats to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and one to Jana Sena Party (JSP). Elections for these seats set for June 18.
Decision came after meeting at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's camp office. Present were Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan,TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao,Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav.
For over hour,they also talked strategies to spotlight coalition's achievements last two years . Leaders discussed Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh.
Alliance parties pledged special focus on SIR, planning awareness sessions . A program will ensure MLAs grasp entire exercise.
A committee to oversee alliance governance next two years is also in works . They also talked initiatives to publicize programs rolled out by alliance government .
Three State-level meetings planned to highlight government's work. Tirupati to host welfare event June 9,governance meeting in Amaravati June 12. Development-focused gathering in Visakhapatnam June 15.
