The government of Telangana has launched new housing initiative aimed at providing affordable homes in Hyderabad. Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced the helpline, emphasizing that support will be available in multiple languages,including Telugu,Urdu, Hindi, and English. This initiative comes shortly after the government opened applications for the construction of one lakh houses within the city limits,with a focus on CURE (City Urban Renewal Environment) area.

As part of the scheme, the government plans to construct 7,680 flats across 16 Assembly constituencies . Each flat will cover a built-up area of 528 square feet, featuring a bedroom,kitchen,and hall. The government will subsidize ₹5 lakh of the total cost,while beneficiaries are required to contribute ₹6 lakh. Additionally,applicants must pay a nominal application fee of ₹100 and an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000 when submitting their applications.

Applications can be submitted through various channels, including MeeSeva centres, the MeeSeva portal, or 8096958096. Minister Reddy advised applicants to ensure they retain their MeeSeva receipt, payment receipt, and application number. He also stressed the importance of keeping the mobile number provided in application active, as it will be used for communication regarding the lottery selection process.

For those concerned about the EMD,the minister clarified that it can be paid through UPI or net banking and will be refunded to applicants who are not selected in the lottery. This initiative is part of Telangana government's broader strategy to enhance housing accessibility and improve living conditions for its residents.
