Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography, Kandula Durgesh, slammed former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over his flip-flop on Andhra Pradesh's capital city . Durgesh stressed it's not just political rhetoric . It's about future stability and self-respect for state's 5.5 crore people.
Wednesday, Durgesh highlighted how Jagan,as Opposition leader, supported Amaravati as capital. But once in power,he pitched a three-capital model and now eyes Mangalagiri-Vijayawada-Guntur (MAVIGUN) as alternative . This flip-flop,Durgesh said, questions Jagan's reliability.
Durgesh argued capital shouldn't change on political whims. It's state's heart. Frequent changes could scare off investors, stop job creation. Like tearing down and rebuilding a house repeatedly. "Pushing for capital change ignores democratic mandate," he said.
Minister noted courts rejected multi-capital idea, pointed to public backing Amaravati before 2024 elections. He blamed YSRCP for not setting single capital in five years, causing investor doubts .
Durgesh contrasted current leadership under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan with YSRCP's rule. He said coalition focuses on development, governance, with Centre's help. Urged Jagan to drop confrontational stance, put people's welfare first.
As political scene shifts before 2029 elections,Durgesh noted YSRCP's five-year stint in opposition . Said party should act responsibly given its current role…
