Negotiations between the United States and Iran are dragging on, mainly due to the US's ever-changing demands. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei pointed out that these shifting positions are messing with the talks.
At a recent press briefing, Baghaei voiced worries about how US's unpredictable statements are hurting the chances for meaningful dialogue. He said the mixed messages from the US are making it even tougher to find common ground.
The spokesperson highlighted ongoing mistrust of the US, saying this skepticism keeps affecting how the two countries interact. Baghaei recognized the possible strategic reasons behind US's changing approach, but he insisted those tactics just don’t work with Iran.
Recently, reports surfaced that US President Donald Trump has laid out more strict conditions for continuing discussions, which were shared with Iranian officials. This came after a US military operation hit specific Iranian targets, even though there was a ceasefire in place . As a result,Iranian military officials confirmed they took retaliatory action against the sites involved in the US's operations.
