United States shipped out 537.9 billion cubic feet (15.2 billion cubic meters) of LNG in April 2026, keeping export numbers high despite Middle East turmoil. That's 6% less than March but 20% more than April 2025,US Department of Energy says.
Egypt,for first time since July 2025,became top buyer of US LNG,taking in 57 billion cubic feet (1.6 billion cubic meters). Also notable: Netherlands,Italy,France,India split nearly half of all US exports. Netherlands got 54.1 billion cubic feet (1.53 billion cubic meters),Italy 52.3 billion cubic feet (1.48 billion cubic meters). France took 46.5 billion cubic feet (1.31 billion cubic meters),India 39.9 billion cubic feet (1.13 billion cubic meters).
161 LNG tankers set sail in April. Golden Pass LNG facility in Texas,backed by ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy,sent out its first shipments. Report notes exports to Asia rose to 30.3% of total US LNG,up from 24.4% in March. This as Middle East crisis drags on and Qatar,UAE cut their LNG output .
Meanwhile,share of US LNG going to Europe dropped to 54.6% by April . Rest went to Latin America and Africa. From January to April 2026,US exported about 2.144 trillion cubic feet (60.7 billion cubic meters) of LNG, a 24% jump from last year. Europe got 40.9 billion cubic meters,or 67% of total. Asia saw 11.8 billion cubic meters,or 19.5%. Deliveries to Africa surged 3.1-fold,reaching 5.6 billion cubic meters. The big question: how long can this pace last…
