Lavrov said,"The Americans are currently holding talks - at least,we have been told that they have such a plan - [on] purchasing the European section of Nord Stream pipelines, restoring it and taking control of it." He stressed only Russian gas would flow through these pipelines, suggesting U.S. as middleman in gas trade .

He added, "I believe it will be at a substantial markup," pointing to potential U.S. profits. Dialogue between Moscow and Washington continues, but Lavrov noted little progress on key issues,especially around diplomatic missions.
