The Visakhapatnam district administration has finalized the digitization of enumeration forms for a total of 20,23,009 electors as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore announced that the draft electoral roll will be made public on July 31.

Efforts to distribute, collect,and digitize these forms spanned 1,980 polling stations throughout the district. updated database now reflects the details of voters who submitted their forms,alongside those classified as absent, shifted, deceased, or duplicate—collectively referred to as ASDD. A thorough field verification was also conducted for voters initially placed in the ASDD category due to missing forms by the July 14 deadline,enhancing the overall quality of the electoral database.

Improvements in the electoral roll have been significant. number of “no mapping” cases has decreased dramatically from 1,80,725 to 27,555, representing just 1.36% of the electorate. Similarly,logical discrepancies have been reduced from 5,48,723 to 2,02,323,or about 10% of voters. The number of notices to be issued post-publication of draft roll has also dropped from 7,29,448 to 2,29,878 .

However,not all voters will be included in draft electoral roll. A total of 2,40,209 names from the ASDD category will be omitted. Following the publication of the draft roll, electors are encouraged to verify their names and details. Those wishing to be included can submit claims window for these submissions will be open from July 31 to August 30.

The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on October 3, 2026, after all claims and objections are addressed. Voters needing assistance can reach out to the Election Commission helpline at 1950 or 0891-2590100, or visit local constituency and district-level help desks .
