Cabinet sub-committee in Telangana met Friday to speed up land pooling and monetization for big projects,zeroing in on lands under Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka led talks to boost coordination among revenue departments for more resources.
Officials told to fast-track land pooling . A plan for monetization of HMDA lands is ready. Commercial Taxes department ordered to strengthen intelligence,enforcement to boost tax revenue. Raghunandan Rao, Commercial Taxes Commissioner, said Telangana ranks third nationally in GST collections, behind Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Besides tax strategies, sub-committee stressed getting Telangana representation on GST fitment committee to protect state's fiscal interests. Excise department tasked with meeting revenue targets for year,with action plan needed for effective rollout .
Cabinet panel suggested meeting with revenue officials to find government,assignment lands district-by-district. Finance Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania to set up video call with district collectors to help this along.
During meeting, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan updated on land pooling for three new projects. Ministers pushed for transparent process like Uppal Bhagayat lands in future pooling. Talk also covered speeding up Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation (HILT) policy, with Municipal Administration department urged to help issue needed notifications .
