Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) just kicked off major operation against cybercrime rings running digital arrest scams. Teams hit over 80 spots in 16 states. They're calling it Operation ChakraVI,with 60 special teams on the ground.
Searches swept through Punjab,Gujarat,Delhi,Maharashtra,Haryana,Tamil Nadu,Telangana,Andhra Pradesh,Uttar Pradesh,Madhya Pradesh,Rajasthan,Assam,West Bengal,Manipur,Karnataka, and Odisha. Two suspects nabbed in Chennai and Kolkata. Accused of setting up shell companies.
CBI found a fake website pretending to be Supreme Court of India's official site. This scam ran deep.
Using top-notch forensic tools,investigators tracked cybercrime networks both in India and abroad . Found suspects pushing fake documents,like counterfeit court orders, to lend scams false legitimacy.
Raids netted all kinds of evidence: digital devices,mobile phones,bank records. All under forensic examination now. Investigation hints that not just Indians but foreigners too got duped. Info's being shared with global law enforcement to keep digging.
