Daniil Medvedev,Russia's top male tennis player,has climbed to seventh in latest ATP Rankings,unveiled Monday. The 30-year-old,competing under neutral flag,holds 3,810 points after reaching quarterfinals at 2026 ATP Hertogenbosch in Netherlands.
ATP's top ten now has Jannik Sinner of Italy leading with 13,500 points. Carlos Alcaraz from Spain follows with 9,960. Then come Alexander Zverev of Germany (7,190),Felix Auger-Aliassime from Canada (4,390), and Ben Shelton of U.S. (4,070). Alex de Minaur of Australia sits just above Medvedev with 4,060 points . Novak Djokovic and Taylor Fritz close behind . Flavio Cobolli of Italy rounds out top ten with 3,540 points.
Medvedev once held world number one spot for 16 weeks in 2022. Won 2021 US Open. Total of 23 ATP titles, five in 2023 alone. Also won Davis Cup and ATP Cup with Russian team .
Since February 2022,Medvedev has navigated challenges from international sanctions on Russian athletes. International Olympic Committee advised against Russian and Belarusian participation due to Ukraine conflict. Most sports federations,including International Tennis Federation, suspended Russian and Belarusian memberships. Tournaments in those countries canceled,national teams barred from Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup…
