Former Minister S. Regupathy of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) slammed political tactics aimed at seizing power unethically. Speaking Thursday to reporters in Pudukottai,he stressed DMK's commitment to democratic values, acting as a constructive opposition under M.K. Stalin, the party's chief .
He accused ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK),led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay,of horse trading to clinch a simple majority in the assembly. Right after TVK took power, four AIADMK MLAs resigned, joining TVK. Raises questions about governance legitimacy.
In response to R. Nirmalkumar,Minister for Energy Resources and Law,who alleged DMK tried to lure TVK MLAs with offers of up to ₹50 crore to topple government,Regupathy denied it. He insisted DMK never engaged in horse trading, with Stalin consistently rejecting any alliance with AIADMK for forming government.
Regupathy's comments highlight ongoing tensions in Tamil Nadu politics,as parties trade accusations and counterclaims…
