Lightning strikes across six districts in Jharkhand have claimed lives of at least eight people,including three women and two boys. Deaths occurred in Ranchi and Garhwa,two killed in each,with others in Chatra,Giridih,Seraikela-Kharsawan and Jamtara.

Among deceased,Jitu Mahli, 55,and Nirasho Devi, 33,from Ranchi,were in fields when struck. Sub Inspector Sataydeo Prasad of Pithoria police said bodies sent for post-mortem . In Garhwa, Reena Devi,30, was under tree during storm, fatally struck. Ram Avtar Pal, 65, shepherd from Mukundpur village,also killed tending sheep .

Giridih saw tragedy with 10-year-old boy who succumbed to lightning injuries. Child from Ghoskedih village in Raj Dhanwar block,taken to Koderma Sadar Hospital,didn't survive,police officer Barjesh Kumar confirmed.

Geeta Devi,35-year-old laborer in Chatra,killed at Eco Park,behind district collector's office. Died en route to hospital after strike. Awdhesh Kumar Singh,officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, reported her death.

In Seraikela-Kharsawan, lightning killed Sanjay Deogam,35,while in hut with father and daughter in Sandirdih village . Father and daughter injured but survived. Rushed to Rajnagar Community Health Centre, Sanjay pronounced dead.

Another 10-year-old boy killed in Jamtara,lightning struck while heading to field with father. Incident in Bithara village within Karmatar police area. Mohril Miyan, father,and two other children had minor injuries but are out of danger, officer Alakh Choubey said.
