At 60th foundation day celebration of Shiv Sena in Mumbai, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hinted at looming defections from Shiv Sena UBT faction. He suggested recent events just a warm-up for bigger shifts. "The picture is yet to come," he said, aiming his words at rival faction's leaders, especially Uddhav Thackeray.
Shinde claimed true heirs of late Balasaheb Thackeray are loyal Shiv Sainiks, stressing that succession is about ideology, not family ties. "Shiv Sena is not a piece of land; it is ideology of millions of people," he stated, pledging allegiance to party's founding principles.
In his speech, Shinde thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, crediting them with realizing Balasaheb Thackeray's dreams He noted this year marks Thackeray's birth centenary. A key milestone for party, now Maharashtra's second-largest political force .
And Shinde didn't pull punches with UBT faction, challenging those backing Congress alliances to consider their waning influence . He also took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, implying his presence spells electoral disaster. Where does this all lead…?
