National Conference (NC) announced plans Wednesday for a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20,inviting members of INDIA bloc and other parties in Jammu and Kashmir. This protest coincides with Parliament's monsoon session opening,aiming to push for Statehood restoration and constitutional guarantees for region.

During meeting led by NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his Gupkar residence in Srinagar,party spokesman Imran Nabi Dar confirmed formal invites will go to all INDIA bloc constituents . NC also wants to reach out to parties outside INDIA bloc and NDA.

Dar stressed protest's importance,saying Abdullah will personally draft invitations for each political leader in Jammu and Kashmir. This follows a June meeting where J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah discussed mobilizing elected legislators to Delhi to fight for region's rights.
