Former CPI(M) member G . Sudhakaran, now an Independent MLA,has taken aim at M.V. Govindan, the party's secretary in Kerala. Sudhakaran slammed Govindan's leadership as harmful, pointing to electoral struggles in regions, including Govindan's own district.
This came after United Democratic Front (UDF) scored big in Kannur, grabbing five seats. Sudhakaran was stunned by Govindan's apparent indifference to the party's fading support. He didn't hold back: “Mr . Govindan is unfit for his role. He should either step down or be removed by party.” Sudhakaran, with deep roots in CPI(M) and tracing back to A.K. Gopalan, contrasted his history with Govindan's limited experience.

Sudhakaran, while backing Congress party’s agenda, clarified his independence: “I am not affiliated with either the LDF or the UDF.” He praised Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan's initiatives, claiming they prioritize working class advocacy, something he says CPI(M) lacks. He provocatively asked why the party allies with Congress in Tamil Nadu if it's seen as problematic.
Lastly,he commented on the weakening of Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Assembly, blaming it on lack of support for Leader of the Opposition,Pinarayi Vijayan. He dismissed rumors about criticisms of Vijayan and his family as baseless…
