Kerala government has rolled out tough measures to halt Ebola spread,confirmed Health Minister K. Muraleedharan. This comes after Ebola outbreaks in Democratic Republic of the Congo,Uganda,and South Sudan. Following World Health Organisation and Union Health Ministry guidelines .
Specially trained health workers now at all four airports and major ports in state. They screen travelers from Ebola-hit regions for symptoms. Anyone showing signs faces a mandatory 21-day quarantine,watched closely by local health teams.
In Kottayam, a symptomatic individual swiftly moved to district isolation facility for evaluation. Isolation and quarantine centers now set up in all 14 districts. Ensuring any travelers from affected countries get medical care if needed.
Since these measures began, Kerala logged 206 arrivals from Ebola-affected nations. 74 people now under home quarantine. Meanwhile, 75 finished quarantine or left state,and 57 cross-notified to other states for follow-up . How long can they keep this up…
