Paddy transportation scam blows up in Peddapalli district. Authorities found paddy illegally moved from Maharashtra and elsewhere. It was passed off as local at Mallepalli Paddy Procurement Centre (PPC) in Manthani mandal.

All started after M. Ashok Kumar, Secretary of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society in Manthani, filed a complaint. He flagged dodgy procurement records and fraud at Mallepalli PPC to police Thursday. Police then opened case against 11 people,including B. Sandeep, PPC in-charge,and Thati Naresh,a tab operator.

Investigations showed suspects rigged government procurement system with fake truck chits. State lost money, farmers' interests hit. Authorities seized 2,213 bags of paddy,885.20 quintals, worth around ₹20.97 lakh . More digging found suspects made eight fake truck chits,wrongly documenting 5,421 bags,2,168.40 quintals,valued at ₹51.39 lakh.

Police charged 11 under several sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 318 (4),316 (4),316 (5),338,and 61 (2). Investigation still on...how deep does it go?
