Update on Electoral Roll Enumeration in Karnataka

In Karnataka,effort to revise electoral rolls is moving ahead fast on its second day . Booth officers statewide busy handing out enumeration forms. Over 54.68 lakh forms distributed so far,a significant chunk of the electorate.

By evening of day two,54,68,607 forms were out . Digital processing in full swing,with 2,38,453 forms entered . Some electors,26,213 to be exact,opted for online submission. During review,officials flagged 2,565 cases needing more scrutiny. Included 1,383 deceased,816 voters with new addresses.

Kalaburagi led in distribution with 4.06 lakh forms. Davangere followed with 3.95 lakh,Koppal at 3.63 lakh,Hassan with 3.42 lakh. In digitisation,Raichur led with 33,612 forms processed. Ballari,Chitradurga,Chickballapur,Koppal also saw significant numbers .

Verification and digitisation to run until July 29. Aiming for more accurate,statewide electoral rolls. But will they really reach every voter…?
