Legal Profession's Role in Society
Karnataka High Court judge V. Srishananda told law graduates to hold Indian Constitution as their guiding light during graduation at C. Bhimasena Rao College of Law on June 20. He stressed that while religions have sacred texts, Constitution is unifying force beyond cultural,religious lines .
At Nyaya Deeksha ceremony, Srishananda underscored integrity's role in law. “You must uphold it and,through laws it has shaped,discharge your responsibilities with integrity,” he said . Graduates must challenge injustice,advocate for marginalized.
Judge also stressed need for social harmony. New lawyers should be bridges,not walls in society. “Religion should not be understood in any limited sense,” he noted, pushing for inclusivity over division .
Present at ceremony were key figures from National Education Society: president G.S . Narayanarao, secretary S.N. Nagaraj,joint secretary P. Narayan,college principal Anala A. Event reminded of lawyers' critical role in shaping just society…their work stretches beyond legal matters to social responsibility.
