Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) kicked off ambitious healthcare program,‘Srivari Vaidya Seva’, aimed at rallying medical professionals worldwide to help pilgrims. Announced Friday,this program lets Hindu doctors volunteer at TTD hospitals,improving care for millions visiting Tirumala yearly.
TTD Executive Officer M. Ravichandra unveiled a specialized IT app to simplify registration for volunteer doctors and specialists. He stressed this initiative marks a big leap in devotional service, tapping into expertise of top medical pros to boost healthcare for devotees .
Program starts as a pilot,with plans to tweak it based on volunteer feedback. Ravichandra said TTD is turning into a rare platform where pros from many fields,like healthcare and education, can share their skills in a spirit of service.
To lure volunteers,TTD offers free lodging and meals in Tirumala and Tirupati. Super-specialty docs can volunteer for three days,while MBBS practitioners are urged to serve a week. Medical experts will be placed in various TTD institutions, like Ashwini Hospital,SVIMS,BIRRD Hospital,Ayurveda Hospital,and Sri Padmavathi Children’s Hospital.
